The Rocky Mountain School District is pleased to share the following leadership staffing update:

David Thompson Secondary School, Invermere

Currently serving as Acting Principal at David Thompson Secondary School for the 2024-25 school year, Heather English has been appointed Principal effective immediately. Heather is a long-time educator at DTSS, first joining the teaching staff in September 2000 having previously earned a Bachelor of Arts at University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Education at University of Calgary. More recently, Heather received a Master of Education from University of Northern British Columbia with a focus in Special Education.

Widely recognized as a passionate educator and strong advocate for students, Heather has a proven track record cultivating strong relationships within the community and for earning the respect of students and colleagues alike. She served as Vice Principal at DTSS from 2020-2024 before being appointed to the Acting Principal role last July.
